Agreement to these Terms

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and YouTubeTranscriptGenerator.io ("we", "us", or "our") governing your use of the website at https://YouTubeTranscriptGenerator.io and all related services (collectively, the "Service").

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service immediately.

We may modify these Terms at any time by updating this page and the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Age requirement. The Service is intended for users aged 18 or older. If you are under 18, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

YouTubeTranscriptGenerator.io provides a free web tool that extracts captions from publicly available YouTube videos, optionally translates them, and lets you copy or download the result. We rely on YouTube's own caption data and third-party translation providers; we do not perform speech recognition or store the source videos.

Free and Pro plans. Transcript extraction, translation, copy, and download are free of charge for all users. AI-powered features (summaries, key insights, study notes, content generation, etc.) require a paid Pro subscription. Pro is offered at $4.99/month or $39.99/year (equivalent to ~$3.33/month).

1a. Billing, cancellation, and refunds

Billing. Pro subscriptions are processed by Stripe (Stripe's Consumer Terms). By subscribing you authorise us, via Stripe, to charge your payment method on a recurring basis (monthly or yearly depending on the plan you select) until you cancel. Prices and currencies are displayed at checkout.

Auto-renewal. Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period at the then-current price. We will notify you in advance of any price increase.

Cancellation.You may cancel at any time from the "Manage billing" link on your dashboard. After cancellation your Pro access continues until the end of the billing period you have already paid for. No prorated refunds are issued for unused time.

Refund policy. If you are dissatisfied with the Service within 7 days of your first payment, email us at the address below and we will issue a refund. Refund requests after 7 days are reviewed case-by-case and granted at our sole discretion (for example, in the event of a clear service outage on our side).

Failed payments.If a renewal payment fails, your Pro access may be suspended until payment is resolved. We rely on Stripe's standard retry schedule.

Taxes. Prices shown are exclusive of any applicable taxes; Stripe collects any required tax at checkout based on your billing location.

2. Intellectual property

All software, design, text, and graphics produced by us in connection with the Service (the "Content") and any trademarks or logos belonging to us (the "Marks") remain our property or that of our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access the Service and to use the transcripts you generate for personal or internal business purposes, subject to these Terms. You may not copy, redistribute, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service itself, the Content, or the Marks without our written permission. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

Third-party content. Transcripts you extract originate from videos posted on YouTube by their respective uploaders. We do not own those transcripts and make no claim of ownership over them. You are responsible for ensuring your use of any extracted transcript complies with the rights of the underlying content owner and with applicable law.

3. Your representations

By using the Service you represent and warrant that:

• you have legal capacity to agree to these Terms;
• you are at least 18 years old;
• you will not use the Service through automated means (bots, scrapers, scripts) except as expressly permitted by us; and
• your use will comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

4. Prohibited activities

You agree not to:

• systematically retrieve data from the Service to build a database, compilation, or directory without our written permission;
• interfere with, disable, or circumvent any security feature or rate limit;
• upload viruses, malicious code, or anything that interferes with the operation of the Service;
• use the Service to harass, defame, or harm another person, or to violate any law;
• reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service except to the extent permitted by law;
• impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity; or
• use the Service to compete with us or to build a competing product.

5. Third-party links and services

The Service interacts with third-party platforms including YouTube (for caption data) and machine-translation providers (for translations). It may also contain links to third-party websites we do not control. We do not endorse or assume responsibility for the content, privacy practices, or terms of those third parties. Your use of any third-party service is governed by that party's own terms.

6. Service management

We reserve the right, but not the obligation, to:

• monitor the Service for violations of these Terms;
• take appropriate legal action against anyone who, in our sole discretion, violates these Terms or applicable law;
• refuse, restrict, or block access for any user at any time without notice; and
• otherwise manage the Service to protect our rights and to keep it functioning properly.

7. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

8. Termination

These Terms remain in effect for as long as you use the Service. We may, at our sole discretion and without notice, deny access to the Service to any user for any reason or no reason, including suspected violation of these Terms or applicable law.

9. Modifications and availability

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice. The Service is provided on an "as-available" basis; we cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability and will not be liable for any loss, damage, or inconvenience caused by downtime, maintenance, or discontinuation.

10. Disclaimer

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that transcripts will be accurate, complete, or error-free, that translations will be correct, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or secure. Your use of the Service is at your sole risk.

YouTubeTranscriptGenerator.io is an independent service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube, Google, or any video uploader. References to those names or marks are descriptive only.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL WE, OUR OPERATORS, OR OUR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS OR LOST DATA, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. Our aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms or the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you have paid to us in the 12 months immediately before the claim arose, or (b) US $10.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. If those laws apply to you, some or all of the disclaimers and limitations above may not apply, and you may have additional rights.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us and our operators harmless from any loss, damage, liability, claim, or demand, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of (a) your use of the Service, (b) your breach of these Terms, (c) your violation of any third-party right (including intellectual property rights), or (d) your violation of any applicable law.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the laws of the state in which we operate, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. You and we agree to attempt to resolve any dispute informally first by contacting us at [email protected]. If a dispute is not resolved within 30 days, either party may pursue it in a court of competent jurisdiction. You agree to bring any claim only in your individual capacity and not as part of any class or representative action.

14. Electronic communications

By using the Service you consent to receive communications from us electronically (for example, via email or notices posted on the Service). You agree that all agreements, notices, disclosures, and other communications we provide electronically satisfy any legal requirement that they be in writing.

15. Miscellaneous

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force. Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of that right. We may assign these Terms at any time; you may not. Nothing in these Terms creates a joint venture, partnership, employment, or agency relationship.
